UPDATE: Within an hour of this story breaking, Sohn tendered his resignation to the Orlando Pride Chamber and removed his social media presence.
A bit over a decade ago, I first crossed paths with Daniel Sohn. Back then, in his early twenties, Daniel (now age 33) was a memorable figure, unlike anyone else I’ve ever encountered. His resemblance to George Santos is striking, both in looks and their uncanny personalities of deceit, as legions of lies, treachery, and manipulation propels a desire to become something they’re not.
As with Santos, ethics are in critically short supply in Daniel’s life.
According to Sohn’s LinkedIn page, he’s a “former Lawmaker with over 20+ years of Nonprofit & Governmental Affairs Leadership Experience,” suggesting a career that started at a very tender age. Conveniently!, there’s a tall tale for that — as he claims management of an $8 million charity fund before turning 13.
“Daniel Sohn’s between the lines insinuation hopes the voters find him fiscally capable and ready, having governed an $8 million budget at 12 years old. Hand-picked by the Governor, who, having some free time on his hands, culled local middle schools, looking for the most capable of solving Tallahassee’s problems. What Sohn fails to mention, and with good reason, is Mom wrote this grant.”

My Acts Of Sedition
Daniel lies. A lot. Some/most/all the time, it appears.
Let’s take a moment to validate some other past assertions — book author? No, not really, unless covers count. Chairman of the South Florida Non-Profit Business Chamber of Commerce? Never existed. Father of a child? Childless.
Life coach, public speaker, child prodigy, and hand-picked by the governor? No, no, no, and no.
Editor’s Note: I’m reminded of a lyric from the Black Crowes tune, She Talks To Angels … a fabulous song about liars peddling lies.
She’ll tell you she’s an orphan … after you meet her family.
Imagine, if you could, interviewing George Santos.
From a non-existent South Florida-based chamber role, he parlayed (or is that parlied?) that into other chamber gigs, arriving at the Orlando Pride Chamber.
A house of cards that Daniel keeps upsizing.
I still vividly recall our initial phone conversation — bizarre, strange, unrestrained. Every single Sohn claim unraveling as yet another falsehood — like tumbling down a rabbit hole of malarkey, reminiscent of a bad acid trip. Imagine, if you could, interviewing George Santos.
As I sought confirmation, Sohn’s speech became higher-pitched, accelerating faster and faster, ratcheting up to an inhuman pace, like a whirling dervish fueled by a case of Red Bull. His words ran together, blurring into a rapid-fire stream. Concerned, I interrupted, needing to ensure he was alright.
Sohn’s road of trickery.
Fast forward to the present, and Sohn’s Road of Trickery finds it way to California, where he’s celebrating Newsom’s “nomination” and Biden’s “appointment” of him as a “Governing Board Member” to the Nation’s Selective Service System, all capped off with a Kamala “swear in.”
His false claims say he is one of two paid Governing Board Members in California. Sohn routinely refers to Biden as “his boss.”
Er, not.
These are heady times. To the uninitiated, Daniel H. Sohn appears at the pinnacle of power… but for the rest of us, it’s just another Tuesday filled with deceit. After all, there’s no such thing as a Governing Board Member role.
A resume built on deceit.
The scrutiny goes on. Was he appointed by President Biden? No. Sworn in by the Vice President? Not at all. Nominated by Newsom? Far from it.
These recent assertions, like all the others, are poorly constructed — merely a thin facade.
You know the old chestnut, “if you don’t have a picture, it never happened?” Well, Daniel has ’em … however, they’re all Photoshopped.
It’s Air Force One on line two.
Local Selective Service board members, such as Sohn, are appointed by the Director on behalf of the President, based on recommendations from state officials. Contrary to Sohn’s claims, members do not have personal interactions with the POTUS in the Oval nor invited to meet/greet Air Force One.
In the words of my late Nanny, “that’s just a crock of crap.”
Additionally, members are required to reside in the county where the board operates. In Sohn’s case, his lack of California residency (currently lives in Orlando) appears to be a violation of this rule. To address this issue, I have initiated efforts to raise awareness out west.
Bubbling caldron of bullshittery.
Why should we care? This has nothing to do with Daniel’s sexual orientation, nor his political leanings. If you thought Santos was problematic, Daniel’s in spring training, waiting for his call up to the bigs. Eventually, he’ll set the hook and we’ll all be in for a ride.
I could go on and on, as Sohn’s a bubbling caldron of bullshittery, but you get the idea.
So, I’ll leave the rest up to John and Alex Sotomayor … John’s the publisher of Embrace Magazine and brother Alex is the research expert. Team Embrace, spending a *very* considerable amount of time and treasure looking to hold Sohn accountable, brought this matter to my attention.
And, boy oh boy, did they also bring the receipts.

Also, Team Sotomayor created extensive op research.
